About · Tallinn
Rooted in Estonia. Shaped by everywhere else.
Markent is a digital agency built on a simple idea: the most digitally advanced countries in the world shouldn't have their small businesses left behind by the tourists and customers already walking past their door.
Our Story
We started by solving growth problems for operators across the United States and Pakistan: a holiday retailer, a property manager, a detailing studio, a phone shop. Different industries, different continents, the same story every time: real revenue, lost to a slow site or a search result they never showed up in.
Now we're bringing that experience home. Estonia is one of the most digitally advanced societies on Earth: nearly all public services run online, and a company can be founded here in an afternoon, from anywhere, without ever visiting a government office. It's a genuinely remarkable place to do business.
But walk through Tallinn's Old Town in high season, and much of what a visitor actually touches (a menu, a booking page, a shop's own site) hasn't kept pace, and rarely speaks their language. The gap isn't ambition or talent. It's that most local businesses have never had a partner who could close it for them.
“The most digitized country in the world shouldn't have its small businesses left behind by the tourists walking past their door.”
Markent exists to close that gap: local businesses, optimized for the world that's already arriving on their doorstep.
Maarahvas
“People of the land.”
One of the most unique ideas in Estonian culture: a deep appreciation for simplicity, honesty, hard work, and self-sufficiency, rather than extravagance for its own sake. We try to build the same way, and this is the country that shaped that instinct.
The Baltic Sea & limestone klint: openness, and the stone Tallinn is built from
Forests: nearly half the country, and a national instinct toward balance
Tallinn Harbour: Estonia's gateway to Europe, then and now
University of Tartu: Estonia's oldest, and a bet on evidence over guesswork
Raised bogs: part of the self-myth of a people who never left this land
Modern Tallinn: a medieval capital that became a digital one
Nordic minimalism isn't a lack of design. It's what quality looks like here.
